Welcome to Blarney Osteopathic Clinic, a clinic nestled in the heart of the vibrant Blarney community.
Our skilled and compassionate Osteopathic practitioners have been looking after the people of Cork since 2007. We are dedicated to providing exceptional Osteopathic medicine that caters to the unique needs of each patient.
Osteopathy treats patients with a range of hands-on manual techniques. Osteopaths detect and treat damaged parts of the body such as muscles, ligaments, nerves and joints. All osteopathic techniques are safe, gentle and highly effective. Everyone from the newborn to the older person can benefit from Osteopathic treatment.
Blarney Osteopathic Clinic is part of three Osteopathic clinics, with our other well-established clinics in Mallow, (established in 2007) and in Fermoy, (established in 2014). Our Blarney Osteopaths are registered with the Osteopathic Council of Ireland and have graduated from the European School of Osteopathy (ESO). The ESO is a renowned Osteopathic college in Kent, UK and our practitioners have completed a minimum of a four-year full-time masters/degree course.

Our Osteopaths ensure a “patient centre approach” using different Osteopathic disciplines: which may include structural, cranial, visceral, and functional osteopathy.
- STRUCTURAL OSTEOPATHY: This form of treatment focuses on the musculoskeletal system, addressing issues with joints, muscles, and ligaments. By using a variety of techniques such as soft tissue manipulation, joint mobilization, and stretching techniques, our Osteopaths can help restore your body’s natural balance and function.
- CRANIAL OSTEOPATHY: Osteopaths use gentle pressure to release tensions on the cranium (head) and sacrum (bottom). Cranial Osteopathy can help alleviate a range of issues, including headaches, migraines, sinusitis. It is equally successful in addressing the needs of babies and children. Traumatic birthing events, such as prolonged labour, a fast delivery, the use of forceps, can all create dysfunction in the newborn’s body which can manifest in symptoms, such as colic, sleeping difficulties, feeding difficulties, reflux, problems with wind, and irritability.
- VISCERAL OSTEOPATHY: Focuses on the organs within the abdominal cavity e.g. stomach and bowel (and their surrounding tissues). Visceral osteopathy addresses issues related to digestion, circulation, and other internal functions. By using manual techniques, our osteopaths can help improve organ function and overall well-being. Visceral osteopathy helps in the management of issues such as IBS, digestive issues, reflux, and constipation.
- FUNCTIONAL OSTEOPATHY: This discipline focuses on optimizing the body’s biomechanics to enhance its ability to function and adapt to daily stresses. Our practitioners use a combination of movement analysis and manual techniques to address any functional imbalances and promote freedom of movement throughout the body.
In Ireland, all of the major health insurance companies including VHI, Aviva, Laya Healthcare, GloHealth and St. Paul’s Garda Medical Aid cover Osteopathy. The value you can claim from your health insurance companies will depend on your health insurance plan.
